R.I.P Nick Adenhart…

Today, the sports world received sad news that one of the Anaheim Angels’ budding pitching prospects, Nick Adenhart, had died in a traffic accident along with two others Thursday in Fullerton, CA. Police reports say that he was a passenger in a car struck in an intersection by a drunk driver running a red light who was then caught and investigated after attempting to flee the hit-and-run. nickadenhart_1_400This tragic news comes just a few hours after he pitched the best big-league game of his life, six shutout innings against the Oakland Athletics Wednesday night. After being drafted four years ago, Adenhart had battled elbow surgery and journeyed his way through the Angels’ minor league organizations. Without lots of Major League experience, Adenhart was still considered a great young arm that would likely have success once he got a chance in the pros. Only 22 years old, Nick will be in our thoughts and our prayers go out to Nick’s family, friends, and fans. May he rest in peace…God Bless…
